// hello, world

Michael T. Mosier

Software engineer and cloud systems administrator with 25+ years of experience. I build infrastructure, automate systems, and integrate AI into real-world workflows. Currently at Delta Utilities, where AI and automation are at the core of everything I do.

About Me

I'm a cloud systems administrator and software engineer based in New Orleans, LA. With over two decades in the industry, I've built everything from e-commerce platforms and AI-powered automation tools to embedded hardware and home security systems. At Delta Utilities, my primary focus is AI and automation — designing systems and workflows that reduce toil and let the machines do the heavy lifting across Oracle Cloud (OCI) and Microsoft Azure.

Before moving fully into cloud and infrastructure, I spent nearly 15 years at Practical Data building the kinds of systems that keep e-commerce businesses running at scale — job schedulers, search engines, email reporting platforms, and security hardening at every layer. I hold a patent (US6782375) for a neural network-driven customer acquisition engine, and I've been chasing the intersection of practical engineering and intelligent automation ever since.

I administer Linux and Windows servers across multiple Active Directory domains and Azure Entra environments, and I'm deeply comfortable in the spaces where cloud, code, and automation intersect.

Beyond the Terminal

Chess

Competitive player who participates in live tournaments. The same strategic thinking that goes into a chess match shapes how I approach system architecture.

🎪

Alternative Arts

Active in New Orleans' alternative arts community — coordinating events, teaching classes, and giving demos. The city's creative energy keeps me grounded.

🧪

Lotion Making

Crafting handmade lotions and skincare products. It's chemistry, precision, and creativity — not so different from writing clean code.

Hardware & Making

Arduino GPS navigation systems, Raspberry Pi home security setups, NFC door locks — I like building things that exist in the physical world.
